There are also model Health and Safety policies for reps in Academy chains
and stand alone Academies on the related links section of the NEU Academies page

The NEU is fundamentally opposed to Academies.  It inevitably leads to the further privatisation of education and takes schools further out of local democratic control.  However where academies exist we are committed to continuing to protect our members and cooperate in providing a first rate education service for all.

What we seek is an open, transparent, public consultation process for any school taking the slippery path to Academy status.  We would welcome a public debate in our area where these issues could be discussed in a public forum.

For more information there are documents about funding, pay and conditions and Academies in general on the NEU campaigns page ‘Academies’
